Restylane™

Restylane™ is a dermal filler that restores volume to the skin, giving it a smoother and more youthful appearance. It is the first cosmetic dermal filler made of non-animal-based hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that already exists in the human body. We have used hyaluronic acid in many forms for 23 years. It is safe and effective.

In our office Restylane can be injected in the lips and to restore areas around the mouth. It is also used around the eyelids to restore fullness to the cheeks. It lasts anywhere from six to 12 months, though we have seen effects lasting up to two years. It is part of our “facelift bypass”.

We have presented and published on Restylane™ and find it to be the ideal filler substance. With it, we can sculpt the lip; we use it to create a more youthful, sensual, pouty lip or a more beautiful lip.

It is used in both women and men. Swelling can be expected for up to two days, and bruising will usually occur, lasting less than a week. Minimal tenderness is also present for a few days following injections.
